Chicago Blackhawks
I think this hat is one of my proudest moments...Blackhawks Earflap Hat with Pom Pom.
Although I cannot take credit for the actual design (I used a combination of photographs of hats others were selling), I did not have a pattern to work from and had to make everything up myself.

Christmas is in 5 weeks!!
Thanksgiving is already 1 week from tomorrow and Christmas is 5 weeks from today!!
How the holidays sneak up so quickly every year is beyond me!
If you want anything made in time for Christmas, please contact me as soon as possible.
Your order must be in before Thanksgiving to guarantee it will be ready in time for Christmas.
I also just started a Facebook Page for CJP Crochet Creations, so you can contact me here, there, or via email at cjpcreations@gmail.com.

Off and running...
October was quite a busy month for me. Almost everything that I made has been added to this blog. Here are some photos of items I finished within the last week or 2. (More to come!)

Specialty Items
To follow along on Christmas 2012, my mom requested some towel toppers and a table runner. Both entered new territories for me. (Pattern locations to be posted later.)
With all of the extra yarn I had left over from the infamous Christmas 2012, I took a shot at making some baby booties from a pattern I found here. Although cute, not every baby agrees to keep them on...this was my daughter.
After going public with my skills, my dad requested some specialty items as well for around the house.

Hats
The first hat that I ever made was for my infant daughter. It was made with cotton yarn which shrunk the first time I washed it...thus teaching me: you don't use cotton yarn for clothing (unless that's what someone specifically wants)!
From there, I had an idea of how to make a basic earflap hat. Besides the infant hat, I made a hat for my Brother-In-Law for Christmas 2012.

At Christmas, my Father-In-Law liked his scarf so much, he put in an early birthday gift request for a hat. Knowing his birthday isn't until April, I of course made it as soon as I finished the late Christmas gifts and shipped it off so it could get some use before the Spring.

For those of you who know how quickly babies grow, you know by now, it was already time to make a new hat for my daughter. This pattern can be found here.

I made this hat for my neighbor's son in September 2013. Blue Camo and Ivory Infant Earflap Hat |
My husband also needed a hat after watching me make gifts for everyone else, I didn't finish it until after Christmas, but with the way winters are around here, he still had plenty of time to make use of it. I found this amazing pattern here. Just this past winter, I made hats for me and my now-toddler-daughter as well.

Jazz Stripe & White Striped Toddler Beanie I later turned this hat into an earflap hat as my daughter quickly outgrew this hat as well. |
In preparation for Christmas 2013, I started making some unique Santa Hats for my family...in hopes to get a great Christmas card photo. After going public with my newly found crochet abilities, my husband's Aunt ordered a couple for herself and her husband. This pattern can be found here.

My Nana requested a Forest Green Hat and a family friend and my neighbor requested a beard hat for their toddlers. This same friend also requested a Frosty the Snowman Hat, that I created myself, for a special photo shoot.

Scarves
Scarves were the next easiet thing in line for me. They didn't require a pattern and can be made any length, width...any size you want.
The first scarf I ever made was for the lady who worked in the mailroom at work.
After that, I didn't crochet again until I needed to make gifts for Christmas 2012. Considering I didn't start on the gifts until Thanksgiving, I only had about a month to make all my gifts. I've learned better!
In order to match my daughter's toddler hat, I made this toddler scarf. It's mostly used as a toy, but when she gets it wrapped around her neck it's the cutest thing ever.

Baby Blanket
The first thing I ever crocheted...that could actually be given to someone.
My dad re-taught me the basic single crochet and I just made the most basic blanket I could for my little cousin born in February 2011. I, myself, am adverse to everything pink for little girls so I found the next best colors.

After learning from my own experiences, when a friend requested a baby blanket as a gift, I recommended that we use a pattern, which can be found here.
